The Garrett Brown Memorial Fund has been established in memory of Garrett Brown ‘21, son of Meghan and Ken Brown and brother of Drew Brown ‘19 and Griffin Brown ‘27.

Garrett started at SOTI as a kindergartener in 2012 and was in the Fall of his seventh grade year when he was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. His friends, classmates, teachers, and the entire School of the Incarnation community rallied together to support him as he bravely began a long battle against this vicious cancer. Throughout his initial treatment, Garrett had one goal - to return to SOTI as a full-time student for his eighth grade year. Of all the things that cancer took away from him, it was his school and the people in it that he missed the most. Garrett did return for the end of eighth grade and, despite a relapse and return to treatment, managed to graduate with his class. Garrett never gave up and, although the fight was not fair, he battled until his very last breath on March 16, 2024.

Garrett was a brilliant student-athlete who believed that a school is what you make it, and many of the happiest memories in his short life were created here at School of the Incarnation. Through this fund, his family seeks to support the efforts of the Capital Campaign and to memorialize Garrett. His family finds great comfort in the idea that Garrett’s name will live on in a place that meant so much to him.
