Early Childhood
Where the Love of Learning Begins
Our PreK3, PreK4, and Kindergarten classrooms are places where students learn from
each other, from their environment, and through educational experiences.
The Early Childhood years are filled with exploration: getting to know one another, building confidence as members of their new school community, and learning through hands-on activities.
Young children learn best when they feel safe, known, and loved. Our early childhood program brings together faith, play, relationships, and developmentally appropriate learning. Teachers help children take new steps in language, early literacy, mathematics, discovery, and independence, building a foundation that carries from preschool into kindergarten and beyond.

What Your Child Will Learn
Our preschool pairs the joy of early childhood with academic stanards of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Each day, children explore faith and religion, early math and numeracy, language and literacy, and hands-on discovery across science, technology, social studies, the arts, physical education, and world lanuages. By the end of preschool, children are confident, curious, kind, and ready for kindergarten. Belonging, Faith, and Growing Independence
Through prayer, Bible stories, classroom routines, play, and relationships, children discover that they are part of God’s family. They practice kindness, self-care, cooperation, and the confidence to try new things. Kindergarten builds on the habits and relationships formed in preschool.

Language and Early Literacy
Stories, conversation, songs, and playful exploration help children develop listening and speaking skills, vocabulary, and a love of books. Teachers introduce reading and writing skills appropriate to each age and stage. Children learn to ask questions, share ideas in increasingly complete sentences, and express what they notice and understand.

Discovery and Early Mathematical Thinking
Hands-on activities invite children to count, compare, sort, measure, recognize patterns and shapes, and solve simple problems. Art, movement, nature, and imaginative play give them many ways to explore their world. Teachers observe each child’s development and offer activities and guidance that help the child take the next step.
